i watched this in the cinema back when it first came out. i think it's the first time i realised that not all of Japan is high-tech and neon and toilets that do strange things ;)
Anyway, this film is about a mother who abandons her 4 kids, leaving them in an apartment. It's a sad film, which is based on an even more horrific true story...
http://en.wikipedia.org./wiki/Affair_of_the_four_abandoned_children_of_Sugamo. If you're interested in social problems in Japan, this is one good film to watch.
The language is generally very basic, since most of the time it's just the kids talking, in short sentences. In places they do mumble a bit, but there's really nothing too difficult in there...

  1. You know what the sickest thing about the case was?

"After the mother's three-year sentence, she regained custody of the two daughters."

    That.

  3. Wondered what the "easiest" movie was you have seen IceCream :) This seems.. too "porridge" still for me, but I will try my best watching it on the bus ride on my smartphone as I have no possibility of installing Anki on it (damnd Symbian OS). 答えてありがとうよ!
