These are short documentaries from the NHK school site about the lives of different children in Japan (and around the world too). I'm really enjoying watching them!!! All the children have different lives and goals, from living on a farm, to being one of 9 siblings, leaving the hospital after a long illness, to volunteering, to wanting to sprint in the Olympics. For some reason there seems to be a lot more boys covered than girls though...

Although it's pretty much all children speaking, i've put it as "intermediate" because they have different accents and mumble in places, which makes it a little difficult to understand sometimes. But in general, it's a good resource for listening to real people speak about their lives that someone with a lower level could also get a lot from! You can also check out the あらすじ for help if you get stuck...

*** remember to check out the 2009 series too if you like it :)
