Subtitles: Episodes 1-3 http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_90851.htm
Transcript: Here

I avoided watching this drama for aaaaages, despite how good everyone said it was, because i thought it would either be a cheesefest with lots of crying and heartfelt speeches and 頑張ろうing, or be too sad for words.

Well... it does veer off into cheese territory on a number of occassions, but that didn't annoy me on the whole quite as much as i expected it would. Maybe that's because it's based on a true story, and the honestly written words of an immensely strong, beautiful person, whose talent for writing coupled with a truly awesome personality has given strength to so many people.

Although her illness and it's progression is, of course, immensely sad, overall the story isn't a sad one at all. The focus instead is more on how she touched the lives of the people around her, and found her own role in life despite her illness, or even because of it. Just seeing someone deal with things like that with such dignitiy and optimism makes you really want to become a better person and really value even the smallest, most trivial things.

Saying that, due to the cheesyness, i think i would definately rather have read the book instead. I probably will when i see it somewhere...

About the language, Aya's dad is a little difficult to understand, and of course there is a bit of technical language when the doctor talks, but for the most part the language is very basic and easy to understand.

Share EX2 is THE Japanese P2P (you will find there anything.. and it's fast, because japanese internets is FAST!)

PD == Perfect Dark (the biggest P2P, but you need to share 40gb of your harddisk, called "unity", with other peers first, that means you need to download 40gb of crap in order to download something you really want/need first. advantage: they have more than share ex2)

  6. thanks for the links! sorry, i haven't got round to checking them or joining them yet... i will at some point. But actually, i think it's unlikely that i'd find a lot of Japanese subs there realistically, since they would have been uploaded in other places too if they were there, i think...
anyway, i'll let you know if i join and find out there is! :)
